Palmares Golf Course, located in the stunning Algarve region, is a premier destination offering world-class golfing experience.

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Golf Course Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role is vital in ensuring the optimal performance of all equipment used to maintain the high standards of our course.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all golf course equipment, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, aerators, and other specialized machinery.
• Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
• Monitor and manage parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels for repairs and replacements.
• Ensure all equipment operates safely and complies with local and national safety regulations.
• Conduct safety training for staff on proper equipment use and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and maintenance schedules.
• Work closely with the Course Superintendent and Groundskeeping team to prioritize equipment needs and support maintenance operations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in the golf course or landscaping industry.
• Technical knowledge of small engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and turf maintenance equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with sharpening and adjusting reel mowers is highly desirable.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and inventory management.
• Digital literacy and the ability to use maintenance-related software is an advantage.
• English language skills are a plus, as communication with international staff may be required.
• Flexibility to work early mornings and occasional weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry equipment and parts weighing up to 25 kg.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
